Rekomendacja dla blanku GLX zalecała stosowanie sznura WF. To samo odnosi się do wersji DT. Dla długich rzutów (niestety brak definicji co to jest długi rzut) zalecano nawet zejście z linką o numer niżej.

"G.Loomis fly rod blanks are rated for weight forward lines. Ratings are the same for double taper line and keeping a lot of line in the air, you should move down one size. If you are using a shooting taper of casting very short distances, move up one line size. For example a 9' blank, rated for a #5 line balances at 35-40 feet with a 9' leader, but if you frequently make casts of less than 30-feet, you may want to move up to a # 6 line."
